AMIGUITOS

This progressive program designated for school aged children, offers different levels depending on the age and ability of the student. Each session is held for 12 weeks, starting a new session every 3 months. Classes are small (max 10 students) with a duration of 50 to 60 minutes and are specifically designed for school age children, allowing them to "acquire" Spanish naturally while exploring their world through playful interaction. Please note that More Than Spanish has a progressive curriculum and will not accept new students in any of our continuing classes.

EARLY BEGINNERS I & II

Through fun games, songs, dances, children learn new vocabulary and how to ask and answer basic questions such as: Cómo te llamás? Cõmo estás? Cuántos años tienes? Dónde vives? They also learn greetings, numbers, colors, fruits, family members, parts of the body, clothing and some adjectives and feelings. In this class your child will develop social, physical and attention skills and our Spanish language activities encourage motor and coordination skills.

INTERMEDIATES I & II

Children with previous Spanish experience expand their knowledge with new vocabulary and themes. After reviewing concepts already taught in Early Beginner, we introduce interactive themes like animals at the zoo, animals at the farm, adjectives to describe them, more feelings and emotions, food for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, days of the week, months, seasons and weather.

EARLY ADVANCERS I & II

In this level we reinforce and expand previously learned concepts and engage children in conversations about themselves and their lives. At this point, children are fully verbal and eager to expand their dialogues. Reading and writing is incorporated into these sessions. Since we have small groups, the teacher is able to personalize teaching and provide individualized attention to each student. We incorporate more skits and games, participatory activities and children have a lot of fun interacting with each other. These classes are very animated. In addition to acquiring new language skills children can be creative, enhance their social and imagination skills through storytelling, role play, movement, age-appropriate games, music and other fun, with educational activities. We strive to present new knowledge and skills in ways that are developmentally appropriate and stimulating. The children receive material to complete during the last 10 minutes of class time and at home when desired. We will encourage homework, however, it is not mandatory.

SPANISH CLUB I & II

Based on concepts already taught, advanced children immersed in the foreign language and its culture, through themes such as: A day in the beach, A day on the mountains , Going on vacations, Picnic Day, Celebrating la fiesta, and much more.
